Following the Design-thinking model, our team listed out all parties affected by the algal bloom problem and outlined what our possible solution should address.

Defining the Problem

Our team interviewed experts in the field regarding our algal bloom problem to gain a better perspective on the issue, and formulated a clearer idea as to how we wanted to approach the solution.

Ideate Phase

From the information experts in the field gave us and from our own research, each member formulated a possible solution for the issue, and our mentor gave us feedback for other perspectives that we could consider.

Prototyping Results

Our final solution was dependent on the results of our water sampling tests, so once the verdict was settled, our team formulated the most appropriate and effective response. The results of the sampling are shown below.

Final Solution

Using our mentor feedback and testing results, we formulated a solution that would best fit the necessary criteria to solve the problem. Our official solution was based on our prior research after extensive review of its effectiveness.
